PC42 A Huastec terracotta female figure from central-eastern Mexico, c. 200-600 A.D. : £ 145

A Huastec orange terracotta female figure, wearing ear spools, necklace, and with pointed breasts, measuring 134 mm/5.2 ins. high. The arms and legs missing, the left breast lost and part of the head-dress/hair missing, but an attractive figure with sharply-defined features, from central-eastern Mexico, c. 200-600 A.D.

PC43 An Olmec solid pottery head, from Southern Central Mexico, Formative period, c. 1st-2nd Millennium B.C. : £ 160

An Olmec solid pottery head having a down turned mouth and narrow eyes, with perforated ears, pupils and nostrils, measuring 62 mm/ 2.3 ins. high. The head has a thick neck and pierced chin. Some inoffensive surface wear, but overall condition good and relatively rare. From Southern Central Mexico, Formative period, c. 1st-2nd Millennium B.C.

A fine Huastec pale fawn terracotta head from a figure, with jutting chin, sharply-defined nose, eye-brows and lips, and with pierced eyes and ears, measuring 58 mm/2.3 ins. high. The top of the head pierced and a shallow chip to the side of the head, but condition good and mounted on a natural mahogany block, from central-eastern Mexico, c. 200 - 600 A.D.

A fine Huastec San Geronimo terracotta head from a figure, with textured hair and strong elongate facial features, measuring 64 mm/2.4 ins. high. An unusual and attractive head in good condition, mounted on a natural mahogany block, from central-eastern Mexico, c. 200 - 500 A.D.

PC46 A Mayan small pottery maskette, from Mexico or Guatemala, c. 500-800 A.D. : £ 125

A Mayan small pottery maskette, measuring 70 mm/2.7 ins. across, and 76 mm/2.9 ins. high, with round ear spools, open mouth and open staring eyes. The maskette perforated at the temples for suspension and with remains of red surface pigment. Minor wear, but complete and in good condition, from Mexico or Guatemala, c. 500 - 800 A.D.

A carved green stone Teotihuacan head from a figure, measuring 72 mm/2.9 ins. high, having a restored nose and chin, but an imposing presence, with a weathered partial brownish-white patina, c. 800 A.D.

A Michoacan orange terracotta head with stylised features, applied ear-spools and elaborate head-dress, measuring 47 mm/1.8 ins. high. A charming depiction and in good condition, from West Mexico, c. 500 B.C. - 100 A.D.

A Huastec fawn terracotta head, depicting an old man with a simple tall cap-like head-dress, measuring 35 mm/1.3 ins. high. Chips to the head-dress and one ear lost, but an interesting depiction with well-modelled features, from central-eastern Mexico, c. 200 - 500 A.D.

A Mayan black terracotta head, depicting one of the Old Gods, wearing ear-spools and wearing a flat cap, measuring 36 mm/1.3 ins. across. Chips to the head-dress and to one ear spool, otherwise condition good. Pacific slope region of Mexico or Guatemala, ca. 500 - 800 A.D.
