A group of five Mayan ear spools, made from jade and serpentinite, measuring from 20-30 mm/0.8-1.2 ins. in diameter. Some of the spools with small circular perforations and some chipped. The group includes a fine good-sized flared tubular speckled green jade example, damaged as shown, from Mexico or Guatemala, c. 500-800 A.D.
Previously in the collection of Lorenz Borenstein of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, and collected in the 1950s.

A Moche stirrup vessel in the form of hook-billed bird, painted cream and red-brown, vessel stands 182 mm/7.2 ins high. Expertly repaired from several original pieces with restoration over the breaklines and areas of resurfacing. Some abrasion on the right side of the face, but an attractive vessel, Peru, c. 500-800 A.D.

An Aztec double-chambered paint pot decorated with a human face on one side, measuring 64 mm/2.5 ins. across and 42 mm/1.65 ins. high, pierced on the reverse. Some chips around the apertures and some inoffensive surface wear, but an interesting form, Central Mexico, c. 14th-15th Century A.D.

A Chiriqui fawn terracotta tripod bowl, with two loop handles, the legs incorporating balls as rattles, measuring 98 mm/3.8 ins. high. Restoration and repair to the legs, and one handle reattached, but a nice finely-potted example, western Panama, c. 800-1200 A.D.

PC55 An Archaic Colima terracotta bedded figure, western Mexico, c. 100 B.C.-200 A.D. : £ 175 NEW!

An Archaic Colima terracotta prone figure tied to a bed, the head on a tall pillow, the figure measuring 96 mm/3.8 ins. in length and the rectangular bed measuring 87 x 42 mm/3.4 x 1.65 ins. The figure has centrally-parted hair and ornamented or mutilated ears, the nose lost and ancient inoffensive chips to one corner of the bed, otherwise condition good, western Mexico, c. 100 B.C. - 200 A.D.

A Chupicuaro miniature black pottery kneeling naked figure holding a large bowl, clasped between two small breasts(?), head reattached otherwise intact, measuring 65 mm/2.5 ins. high. The well-modelled face has coffee-bean eyes and a prominent, oversize nose. Condition good and a piece of considerable charm, southern central Mexico, c. 1st Millennium A.D.
